The United Party was founded on the principle that everyone has an opinion, have beliefs and they should be listened too. We agreed that we would discuss, we would argue and we would compromise to solve issues that face the Canadian people. The attempt of not being left or right but in the middle because we believe most Canadians believe in Fiscal Responsibilty, Socially Progressive and Environmentally concerned.
We even thought in our discussions that when we get elected to govern our M.P.’s would be allowed to vote freely on all issues except that of monetary policy because we couldn’t allow for us to defeat ourselves. So that particular fight would be in caucus and again go back to our main principle to discuss – to fight – to compromise. Inthis way onall other issues our MP’s can represent the will of their constituents or take it upon themselves to vote their own will and then they would have to answer to their constituents.
